Marine radio transmitters specification sheets

The conventional used VHF radio tracking transmitters in the range of 138 - 174 MHz do not transmit through salt (marine) water.

However, a number of species, seals for instance, can be tracked when they are up out of the water of course. These Marine Mammal transmitters are designed and built with these types of species in mind, and are therefore built to withstand the depths that these transmitters may be subjected to.

Another common use for these transmitters is for asset recovery. Devices that have been deployed in the marine environment, such as data collecting pop-ups, floats, satellite tags, and drift camera systems.
